Why doesn't my Sales number match my ERP

Follow these tips to trouble shoot why your sales number may not be matching a report from your ERP

Check that the extracts are using the same field selections

There are 4 main reasons why your TRS Sales numbers may not match the numbers you are seeing in a report directly from your ERP.

  1. Filters
    • check that the filtering being applied to the ERP report matches the filters being applied to the TRS cube report
    • this may also relate to any excluded sales that may have been applied to your cube and not to the ERP
  2. Location v Originating Locations
    • Check that both reports are using the same location attributes, remembering that:
      • Originating Location relates to the Location where the sale was taken
      • Location relates to the Location where the sale was Fulfilled
  3. Sales Timing
    • check that both reports are using the same sales definition related to the timing of the sale, remembering that:
      • Sales (or Demand Sales) refer to sales being reported at the time the Sale was taken
      • Fulfilled Sales refer to sales being reported at the time the Sale was Fulfilled
  4. Sales Measures
    • are you comparing including GST or excluding GST
    • are you comparing including Returns or excluding Returns

If unsure, test it in a TRS pivot using different combinations of the above.

Still not match? Find a specific example

If the numbers still do not match, then drill into the detail to find an example of a transaction number that differs in the cube v the ERP.

  1. Find a DATE that has differing information
  2. Drill in to then find a LOCATION that has differing information
  3. Add TRANSACTION NUMBER to the pivot
  4. Compare transaction detail against the ERP
  5. you could add in PRODUCT to check if it is related to a return
  6. If you find any difference in the data, i.e. a transaction number missing or a differing value or missing product:
    • please send the pivot as an attachment, with a screen shot of the transaction detail in your ERP, highlighting where you have noted the variance, through to the TRS helpdesk support@theretailscore.com
