What is the difference between Demand Sales and Fulfilled Sales
Demand Sales and Fulfilled sales differ in the timing of reporting the sale.
There are 2 different sales reporting measures available in the cube depending on the desired timing of reporting the sale.
Demand Sales
Demand Sales report the sale at the time the sales order is placedPRO
-
- provides a more immediate sales result against the promotional activity for the time period selected
CON
-
- Sales value can changed once the order is fulfilled if there are items that were unable to be fulfilled and are consequently cancelled
Fulfilled Sales
Fulfilled Sales report the sale at the time the sales order is fulfilled
PRO
-
- Sales value does not change as this is the value that was actually shipped
CON
-
- Often there are no Fulfilling Sales for Saturday and Sunday due to the warehouse not operating
- Weekend Sales will not be fulfilled till the following week hence why the Fulfilled Sales for the Monday and Tuesday are inflated in the example provided below
These measures are found under the Retail Sales table.
All fields for Demand Sales are straight Sales named measures
All Fulfilled measures have 'Fulfilled' in the title of the field.
