3.05 tRS Connect | Terms and Definitions

An article with definitions for terms you will come across on tRS Connect and in tRS Fundamentals for Connect.

Hub

The Head Office Dashboard view for Connect, where Head Office users operate, including publishing and reviewing activities, and analysing data.

Store View

The Store User Dashboard view for Connect, where Store users can see activities they need to be aware of or complete and can submit their responses to these activities.

Activity

An item that can be published to one, multiple, or all stores to either view or action. Activities include Events, Announcements, Tasks, Store Notes, Visual Merchandise Directive, Store Forms, and posts in a Social Feed. Details can be added to these Activities to explain what Stores must action regarding this Activity.

Event

Something that should take place in the store that is attached to a date or range of dates. Examples include a week long promotion, or a one day only flash sale.

Announcement

A public statement to the store. The publisher has the option of adding an attachment to the Announcement.

Task

A specific set of actions that the store must complete by a certain date. Survey questions can be added to a Task to capture any information relevant to the completion of the task.

Store Note

An announcement that someone within a Store can post to that Store's Dashboard, with information relevant to that Store's operations. These will only be shared to other users within the same Store.

Visual Merchandise Directive

A way for Head Office to inform Stores of the required Visual Merchandise setup, due to be set up on a specific date. Images can be attached to show the Stores what the setup should look like, and files can be attached to send Stores files such as an information package on the Visual Merchandising.

Social Feed

This allows head office users to set up a view in a store user's dashboard which allows them to see posts from a designated social media account, right on their Connect home page.

Store Forms

A way for Head Office to send out questions to Stores, and a way for Stores to submit answers to these questions, or put in requests (such as an Equipment Request) to Head Office. These forms may be required to be submitted regularly, eg daily, weekly, or monthly, or can be published to Stores on an ad-hoc basis. Forms can also require an image response, which can be uploaded via a QR code. The survey questions in these forms are totally customisable, and can require text, checkbox, date, or numerical answers.

Indicates that the user has completed the required steps in this activity.

QR Code

A black and white pixelated square which enables users to upload their own photo to the activity. Users require a device with photo-taking capabilities. Simply open the camera and hold the camera over the QR code, ensuring the entire square is in the frame (you do not need to take a photo). A link will appear on the screen, which, once tapped, will take the user to a website. Follow the steps on the website to upload an image, and this image will immediately appear in the activity.

Primary TAG

The most common TAG/department from which that user will be posting activities, eg Marketing or IT.

Secondary TAG

This is used to communicate urgency or importance against any activity. Both Primary and Secondary TAGS are searchable elements of any activity. So whilst a Primary TAG is the business function or department to which the publisher belongs, the Secondary TAG acts like an alternate search string eg priority. Secondary TAGS are optional.

Tiles

Different areas on your Dashboard which contain their own distinct types of activity to neatly organise your page.

Dark Mode

An aesthetic look of the Dashboard which has a black background and white text, making the screen darker.

Light Mode

An aesthetic look of the Dashboard which has a white background and dark text, making the screen lighter.

Audience

The specific stores or more general location groups your activity will be published to, and show up on their Dashboards.

Save

Keeps a copy of the information you have entered into the activity, so if you needed to close the window and come back to it later, your responses are saved and will be there for you next time you open the activity.

If you do not save the activity before submitting/completing/cancelling it, you will lose all information added to the activity since creating it or since the last save, and it will not be there next time you open the activity.

Submit

For Head Office users, this will publish the activity to all Stores selected in your audience. You can still edit the details of this activity after it has been published by clicking on the pencil icon next to it on your Dashboard or in the relevant view.

For Store users, this will submit your completed Store Form to Head Office for review, and will mark this form as Completed for your Store

Complete

This will submit the responses contained within the activity to Head Office and mark your Store as having completed this activity.

Owner

This is who you would like to be responsible for this activity, and therefore allow them editing privileges of the activity. Owner permissions are restricted to Head Office users. Only the creator and the Owner will be able to edit the activity once it has been submitted. Store users can't see who is the owner of the activity, only the publisher.
