[01 Getting Started](https://fundamentals.theretailscore.com/knowledge/trs-set-up?hsLang=en#01-getting-started) # How do I set up LFL or Like for Like in tRS? ## Use this article to understand how to format your like for like template to be loaded into your tRS service. #### About tRS supports multiple methodologies for the calculating like-for-like or comp stores.  However this article focuses on setting up the template to be filled in that supports the most popular LFL methodology using a simple "Is Open" Flag of '1' or '0' to indicate if the location was open that week.  - A location week for the current year is marked as "1" if the location was trading or to be used in LFL calculations - Additionally, the location and week of the previous year is marked as "1" if the location was trading or to be used in LFL calculations - When both weeks across the current and previous year are both "1", this location and week will be used in LFL calculations Click [here to read how the recommended like-for-like methodology works in tRS.](https://fundamentals.theretailscore.com/knowledge/how-does-like-for-like-lfl-work-in-trs?hsLang=en)  ### Like for Like Template Your location like for like data must be formatted and maintained in a specific structure to be uploaded into your tRS service and this is best done in MS Excel.
